BIOGRAPHY Dear Parents, Welcome to Anneewakee Academy! As the owner/operator of this childcare center, I want to ensure you that you are entering into a remarkable program employed with excellent staff, who will always strive to provide the best care and learning experiences for your child. Our unique approach to learning focuses intently on the process a child uses to complete a learning experience, which will enable your child to be confident in knowledge and will promote their individuality. Prior to beginning Anneewakee Academy I was employed at the Douglas County Health Department for four years. There I worked in the Women, Infant, & Children's Department (WIC), offering government assistance to those in our community in need. During this time I served as an active member of the Safe Kids of Georgia Coalition. Later I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education from the State University of West Georgia. After earning my degree, I became employed at Winston Elementary School as a 5th grade teacher, where I remained for the next five years. During my years at Winston Elementary I continued to receive numerous hours of continuing education and staff development training. I served as math curriculum coordinator for several years, taught advanced math courses, volunteered as the Red Cross Representative, and was elected the sole classroom teacher representative for the Student Support Team. In this position I worked closely with the administration and the Special Education Coordinator at the Board of Education to provide the best possible care for children with exceptional needs. On a personal note, my husband Trey & I have been married 7 years and have two young sons, Drew and Brady. We are active members in the community and serve at Dorsett Shoals Baptist Church. Owning a childcare facility has always been a dream of mine and I thank you for your business so that my dream can now be a reality. I greatly anticipate getting to know you and your child on a personal basis. Our children are truly precious gifts from God, and I share your interest in their well-being and their success in life.
